These are some steps to take.

1. Plan two ways out of your neighborhood

3. Clear needles, leaves, and other debris from roofs, gutters, porches, and decks
4. Keep piles of firewood at least 30 feet away from the building
5. Keep lawns mowed and hydrated dry grass shrubs are easily ignited
6. Install metal mesh screening in the attic and crawl space vents to prevent ignitions
7. Remove all flammable outdoor items such as (cushions, doormats, and portable propane tanks) 
8. Dispose of debris and lawn cuttings to reduce fuel for a wildfire
